Wow, this guy has it all. Video games, books, instructional videos, waterslides, and Chia Pets. Sorry — no Chia Pet, but soon, hopefully. Now Tony Hawk can now add roller coaster to his long list of endorsements, actually his fourth roller coaster. The latest Tony Hawk’s Big Spin just opened today at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in the Bay Area.

I just watched a youtube video of Tony Hawk’s Big Spin at another Six Flags location in St. Louis and I have some recommendations to make it better. First of all I would make it a lot faster. The fastest roller coaster in the world reaches a top speed of 128 mph. Tony Hawk’s Big Spin reaches a top speed of 31mph. I don’t know about you but that’s pretty depressing. My little brother can Rollerblade faster than 31mph. By the looks of it, the ride can use more height and straight a ways to give it more time to accelerate. The ride kind of looks like it belongs at Santa’s Village rather than a Six Flags.

Then there’s the height of the roller coaster. The tallest coaster in the world is somewhere around 45 stories. Tony’s Big Spin is at 5 stories. Now I know for sure Tony didn’t have a hand in engineering his roller coaster because the dude likes to push things to the limit.

The last thing I would not so much make a change to but enhance is the spinning mechanism of the car. Tony Hawk is widely known for his 900 and I think his ride should constantly be doing 900’s non-stop. That would be dope!
