The Fittest Guys In America?

I’m not really into checking out men’s bodies not am I really into fitness, but when I think about some of the fittest and strongest guys I know in America, there are two people that pop into my mind. First is my 8th grade physical education teacher Mr. Shiomoto. He’s a 5’7” Japanese guy that can bench 350 lbs. The dude is also 50 years old! He teaches tennis on his spare time and his skin is burnt to a crisp but he definitely has to be one of the fittest guys in America.
The second fittest guy in America has to be Tony Little, the man behind the amazing work out machine, The Gazelle. I’m not exactly sure how much he can bench or even how long he can ride the Gazelle, but there is no way on earth you can have his hair cut and not be fit.

So when I found out that Men’s Fitness Magazine put together a list of America’s 25 Fittest Men, I made a bet with my grandpa that both my choices were on that list. He called me an idiot and took on my $100 wager, per guess.
I bought the issue of Men’s Fitness Mag and flipped through the pages to see if I was right. Well to my dismay, not only is Mr. Shiomoto not in there, but everyone on that list was some sort of celebrity. So right away I lost a hundred bucks. My last hope and last bill was on Tony Little. He’s on TV every night hustling Gazelles on infomercials. He’s a celebrity right? I guess not celebrity enough.
Who is on this list? People like Barack Obama. No respect to him, but I know for sure Mr. Shiomoto or Tony Little can kick his arse in weightlifting or Gazelling.
I guess the only redeeming quality of that list is that they recognized skateboarding by adding Tony Hawk, and Ryan Sheckler to that list. I still bet they can’t bench or Gazelle as much as Shiomoto or Little.
Anyway, here’s is their little piece on Sheckler…
No one goes bigger, skates harder, or looks better on four wheels than the star of MTV’s Life of Ryan. “I do skate a lot with my shirt off,” he admits. “And I’m not trying to look bad, so working out has always been important to me.” Sheckler started as a prodigy, winning a California championship when he was just 8 years old. At 13, he took home X-Games gold. Today he’s more focused and fitter than anyone on a board. “I almost have as much fun working out as I do skating,” Sheckler says. “Seeing your body change, getting more toned and cut, it makes a big difference in how I feel about myself and how I skate.” This year, Sheckler’s looking forward to winning the AST Dew Tour skate park event (again), taking home X-Games gold (again), and giving a little something back while he’s at it. He recently donated his custom Range Rover to raise money for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund.
