Red Bull’s Jersey Barriers Contest

If you’ve seen a lot of east coast skate videos, you would notice that those dudes skate practically anything. Whether or not the skate spot has holes, cracks, pebbles, cars, crack dealers, or whatever, the skater will skate it. And I’m not talking like a huge bank, or nice sized gap, I’m talking about a five-inch curb in the middle of a metropolis. Most skaters would find the same spot depressing while an east coast skater looks at it a common.
That’s why it’s fitting that Red Bull’s “Jersey Barriers” contest would suit only an east coast skater. Everyone knows that those freeway barriers are not easy to skate but it’s the norm to east coast guys. Red Bull will be giving 12 of the most popular skate shops on the east coast a Red Bull Barrier to film clips and post the footage on the Red Bull site.
The Top 5 clips at the end of the summer will be watched and voted on by the Red Bull Skate Team and they will pick the winning clip. For best clip the skater wins $1000, the filmer/editor wins $1000 and the shop he rides for will also earn $1000. Winners will be announced October 1st 2008.
