2008 US National Slalom Championships

Skateboarding has probably come the furthest it has ever come with so many world records being set and broken nearly every year. And as you probably already know, skateboarding is mostly all about breaking world records. Danny Way holds several skateboarding world records. He holds the records for highest air and longest jump. Of course Hawk Man X is in the record books. Not for most endorsements, but rather his 900 for most rotations. By the way if you’ve ever seen Danny Way’s 900, it’s bigger and fatter than Hawk Man X’s 900. Then there’s the record for speed, which belongs to Gary Hardwick who on September 26th 1998, went an astounding 63 miles per hour. That speed is no joke.
The skateboard Gary used is the type used for the US National Slalom Championships. If there were a skateboarding event equivalent to NASCAR, this would be it. Crashes and spills at high speeds are the norm at these events. You should really go if you can and experience a different kind of skateboarding contest.
In the mean time, check out this world record for highest ollie…
