If you could remember Danny Way in the early Plan B videos of the early 90’s, it would be safe to say that the guy has come a long way and has become an international ambassador for skateboarding.  The skateboarding father now known for jumping out of helicopters and responsible for one of the craziest events ever at the X-Games will always be that punk kid in Plan B’s “Questionable Video” debating with a middle aged lady that he makes more money than her skateboarding.

Well obviously we all grow up, well most of us anyway, and Danny Way seems to be living in a world all in his own that no other skateboarder can say they share.  Check out this great article written by Jonathan Chow on USC’s US-China Today website.  He makes a lot of good points about China’s growing relations by embracing westernized pop cultures like in the example of Danny Way jumping the Great Wall Of China, which 20 years ago would have been highly offensive.   But 20 years ago, Danny Way was throwing cakes at people walking down the streets.  So it now seems that the stars have aligned and China and Danny are in the right place at the right time.
