sheckler-foundation-logo.jpgRyan Sheckler is kicking up his charity efforts with a new golf tourney that will take place on July 29. The Ryan Sheckler X Games Celebrity Skins Classic will raise money for a number of charities, including Road2Recovery and Wings For Life.

Sheckler’s own Ryan Sheckler Foundation was set up to help raise money for different causes, including helping athletes who get injured while competing.

Now, just in case you’re wondering about the hordes of teenage girls that might show up to learn how to golf rest assured they won’t be able to afford the green fees. The “Bronze Medal” package costs $20K and is good for a foursome. The “Gold Medal” package is $50K and you get to go to the X Games with free parking. Yeah, I think that extra $30K is worth every penny.

But really, this should be a good event for raising money, even if mixed in with the cool guests (Dave Mirra, Travis Pastrana, Carey Hart) are people like Audrina Patridge, Kevin Federline and Brody Jenner.

Ryan Sheckler’s Charity Golf Tournament

X Games Champion and active philanthropist Ryan Sheckler will host his first celebrity golf tournament for charity at the majestic Trump National Golf Course in Palos Verdes as part of the mission of his non-profit organization, The Sheckler Foundation.

Celebrities like Jerry O’Connell, Anthony Anderson, Audrina Patridge, Kendra Wilkinson, Dean Cain, Kevin Federline, Brody Jenner and Verne Troyer, as well as professional athletes, Mia Hamm, Vicki Hurst, Bode Miller, Baron Davis, Carey Hart, Travis Pastrana, and Dave Mirra will all take to the course with Ryan to raise money for a number of charitable organizations including Ryan’s own.

“I’ve always had a desire to help the kids who support me in my career and may not have had the same opportunities that I did,” Sheckler explained, “I have reached a point where I have the ability to give back, and I’m honored to have such a great response for this tournament from my professional colleagues and friends.”

The games begin on Tuesday, July 29th at 10:00 a.m., when celebrities and their foursomes tee off for an 18-hole Skins tournament, where players are pitted against one another in match play for the opportunity to win a $10,000 skin for the charity of their choice on each hole. Players will also take part in a putting contest for additional prizes and an awards ceremony and dinner in the evening.

Charities benefiting from this contest include Wings for Life, a charity that funds scientific research into spinal cord injuries; Road 2 Recovery, which provides financial assistance to seriously injured motocross and supercross athletes and their families; The Athlete Recovery Fund, an organization which provides financial support for injured BMX, FMX, and Skateboard athletes, and Boarding for Breast Cancer, a non-profit youth focused organization that works to create awareness about the disease.
