“It’s Always Snowing Somewhere” Premieres at New Zealand Open

When the New Zealand Open kicks off about two weeks from now it will serve as the perfect location for the world premiere of Burton’s latest DVD. “It’s Always Snowing Somewhere” features every Burton snowboarder you can imagine, including Shaun White Terje Haakonsen, Kevin Pearce, Danny Davis, Jeikki Sorsa and more. Last year’s Burton Global Open Series winner, Peetu Piironien, is also featured and will be at the premiere.
The NZO kicks off the season and is the first event in the Burton Global Open Series and 08/09 Swatch TTR World Tour.

World snowboard DVD premiere and star rider signings
LAKE WANAKA, New Zealand (July 17, 2008) – The Burton New Zealand Open announces the world premiere of the latest Burton Team DVD at Lake Wanaka Centre at 8pm on Wednesday July 30, preceded by a public rider signing session featuring some of the world’s top pro snowboarders.
“With the stars of the movie in town, what better time to have the global launch of the latest Burton Team DVD. The audience can meet the riders of the movie, hang out and get some autographs,” said event organiser, Reuben Yeoman.
Riders present at the session will include Burton Global Open Series winner, Peetu Piironien, ’02 Olympic gold medalist Kelly Clark and back-to-back X Games gold medalist Jamie Anderson, as well as representatives from the New Zealand Burton Team including Olympic athlete, Juliane Bray.
The Burton New Zealand Open is free to watch for spectators and takes place on July 29 to August 2 at Snow Park NZ. Festivities kick off on Tuesday July 29 at the official opening party at Red Rock, Lake Wanaka with local band, Black Planet performing.
