Fifty very talented snowboarders gathered along with great snow conditions for the Cadbury Moro Slopestyle in the Up & Go Terrain Park. The competition was open to any one willing but it was the local guys who dominated the competition. Nick Hyne of the Parklife Rider Team claimed the championship and Maria Kuzma of Wanka winning the women’s event.
After placing third in his age group in the Parklife Mini Shred event at The Remarkables only a week ago, 15 year old Jamin Beattie of Queenstown and the Parklife Rider Team upped his performance to win the Junior Men snowboard event.
Ride Snowboards, Smith and Session Outerwear, and Quest provided spot prizes throughout the day and a prize pool worth $3,000 was shared among the winners.
The next competition in the series will be held on Saturday August 16.
