Familiar Faces Dominate BMX Vert Prelims at Right Guard Open; McCann Leads the Way

Steve McCann led a familiar group through the BMX Vert finals at the Right Guard Open on Thursday. While the order was different, only one name changed from Baltimore to Cleveland, as Zack Warden found the number three spot and last month’s No. 2 qualifier, Austin Coleman, did not finish this time around.
Otherwise, it was more of the same as the ageless Dennis McCoy took the #2 spot, followed further down by familiar faces like Kevin Robinson Jimmy Walker and Jay Eggleston. Eggleston actually tied with Francisco Zurita for the last qualifier spot and took it thanks to a tiebreaker.
The riders will join current leaders Jamie Bestwick, Chad Kagy and Simon Tabron, who automatically qualified for the finals.
The finals will take place Saturday and be shown delayed on USA Network from 12- 1 a.m. ET/PT
