Maloof Money Cup On CBS

Wow, this skateboarding phenomenon is really taking off. I think skating is now as big as hula-hoops, Pogs, and possibly even rollerblading. Now that’s hard to believe. Last weekend the Maloof Money Cup took place in Orange County and the first place cash prize for street was $100,000. Skateboarding is hip! Anyway, skating has even gone to the big network television channels. CBS will be broadcasting all three days of the Maloof Money Cup compressed into an hour of extreme skateboarding fun.
The broadcast will be today (July 20th) at 12pm ET and 3pm PST. The broadcast will feature plenty of skater interviews and some of the cleanest skateboard footage around. Cleaner than a Brian Boitano triple axle. But you can check out a pretty “extreme” promo over on CBS.
Also, check out a couple of videos from The Skateboard Mag. It’s broken up in two parts. Part 1 and Part 2 are awesome. The Skateboard Mag poses the question, “What would you do with a hundred grand?” I like Don Brown’s answer the best. And the Maloof guy. He’s cool.
