South America Snow Sessions started off session 2 by welcoming kids from all over the US. Cali has made a couple of appearances as well as a whole crew from Stratton Mountain School.

“We just got here yesterday… The bus ride was super fun. Got some nice seats. Laid out. Got here, unpacked, got our rooms, got to know everybody. It’s super cool. And then today we woke up at like 8 o’clock, had some delicious croissants with that delache (dulce de leche) stuff I dont know what it was, it was so good. Then we went up to the mountain.” -Tommy Tikos

During some stormy weather the SASS campers learned quickly how to take advantage of everything Cerro Catedral had to offer. Making use of a mini ramp, building kickers off of chair lifts, and pulling pic-nic tables together, everyone got to learn and feed off of each other.
Soon the sun came out shinning on fresh wide open powder fields. Only one way to get to all of it….. HIKE! All day was spent crossing the ridge line and dropping the Nubes face.

“We hiked Nubes twice cuz it was fresh tracks. I was like, ‘SICK! Fresh Pow!!’” -Gabe

Then jump building followed. One day in particular, three massive groups took over Cerro Catedral’s backcountry. SASSers hurled themselves in the air with powder landings to catch them. Throughout the week everyone continued to hike and build in the sunshine.

“I actually like this hiking thing. I feel so good.” -Garrison.
