The fourth round of the Rip Curl Boardmasters at Fistral Beach in Newquay saw a heavy international contingent battle it out in 12 rounds of surfing with 3-foot waves. The day started off with 48 competitors but by the end of it, there were only 24 surfers left who would complete for valuable ASP World qualifying Series points in this 5-Star event.

It Pablo Paulino of Brazil who is also a two time ASP World Junior Champion, lead the pack with the highest score of the day by defeating Australian Matt Wilkinson, Eric Rebiere of France and Luke Cheadle of Australia.

“So stoked to get through that one with such big scores”, Paulino said. “The waves were fun and I just went for big turns and ended up winning. I hope I can keep things going this way for Round 4 and further.”

In the next round Paulino will face fellow countryman Diego Rosa and Nic Muscroft of Australia. Paulino is the favorite if the surf conditions remain the same.
