Snowboarding’s In The Olympics, Is Skateboarding Next?

Being an “extreme sports enthusiast”, and with the X-Games just behind us and the Dew Tour going on, one must think about skateboarding part of the Olympics. I mean don’t skaters deserve that same kind of glory. Did you see what happened in the Men’s Freestyle relay last night? Pretty awesome huh? Or how about the Final of the Women’s Archery competition? The country of Bangladesh has something to celebrate tonight. Imagine the team USA skaters, let’s see… say Shuan White, hmmm… Danny Way, and one more ummm…oh, Ryan Sheckler. That would pretty ideal. Skating against the rest of the world.
Well believe it or not, despite all the glory, there are many of you who probably disagree with Skateboarding being involved in the Olympics. What a shame. But For The Moment via The NY Times posed the same question to pro skaters Tony Alva, Mark Gonzalez, and Todd Jordan to collect their ideas and thoughts with skateboarding in the Olympics.
As for me and to answer these questions quickly, of course I think that skateboarding should be in the Olympics. If I could compete in any sport besides skating, I would definitely choose synchronized swimming. And for the outfits? Each skater should wear Spandex with the American Flag print. Now that’s patriotism.

I’m all for it. I just wonder how the competition would be set up. It would be very interesting to see them try and work something out.
