I know that we probably don’t cover enough women events or stories here on Lat and I know that there’s probably a lack of female coverage in the media in general. Or I should say that there’s not enough coverage on respectable women in the media.
You’re probably saying to yourself right now, “Of course there is media coverage on women”. You’re right. But what do you have? Pamela Anderson’s show? Mother of “missing tot” Casey Anthony? Or election coverage of Republican’t VP nominee Sarah Palin? I know that there is good coverage out there, somewhere, but you can’t deny that the media focuses too much on this garbage.
So here is a respectable segment on VBS’s Red Bull Rider’s Cup entitled “Rachel”. At least here you can see how someone with reluctance to quit in a predominantly male sport can gain you high accolades. Unlike some of the women above, you can look up to this girl Rachel, even if you’re a dude.
