“SK8 Dice” The New Phenomenon?

Move over Soaps because there’s a new toy in town. No I’m not talking about those shoes with wheels on the heel. Those are so last season. Upon hearing about these, I assumed the dice were intended to some way hustle some cash on the streets when you’re not skating or maybe the Andrew Dice Clay soundtrack to load onto your I-Pod. But nope, I was wrong. Again.
SK8 Dice are a new (and improved?) way to play S.K.A.T.E. There are four die total. One dice has stances (nollie, switch, fakie). Another dice has the tricks (kickflip, heelflip, shovit). The third dice has degrees (180, 360, etc). The last dice rolls frontside or backside. You better learn all of these tricks before you get the Dice or else you might find yourself really bored. Just as if you bought a book on sewing quilts without knowing the fundementals. Or it can go the opposite way and you might find yourself too good for this game and find it restricting. Almost like being Ralph Lauren and buying that same sewing book, you might get bored.
I don’t think I’ll be getting the SK8 Dice but I’m thinking of making my own out of wood or something. And with the idea opened up to skateboarding, I can only imagine what else I can attribute the dice to. So I’m thinking of making Rollerblade Dice, or Soap Dice, or possibly even Pogs Dice. I like the sound of that. Check out the SK8 Dice website for some info on how you can get a set of these. Just make sure you don’t lose one of them if you get them.
