Yes, there is a connection between FOX’s powerhouse karaoke show “American Idol” and uber-snowboarder/skateboarder Shaun White. No, it’s not that the Flying Tomato has made an appearance on it (not to our knowledge, at least) and it doesn’t appear that he’s planning to audition any time soon. Rather, White has a unique connection with Michael Johns, the hunky Aussie who was one of the finalists from the show’s last season. White’s ESPN-produced documentary, “Shaun White: Don’t Look Down,” was actually scored by Johns
While the movie is currently unavailable on DVD, you can watch it on Friday, September 26, on ESPN Classics at 7 p.m. ET. It may not be a classic (it was released in late ‘07) but you’ll have trouble watching it anywhere else.
