With surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, and rollerblading rising from the outer depths of obscurity and into the mainstream, there is no doubt that these sports will be at the forefront of EXTREMITY for a long time.  With surfing, you’ve got one of the most extensive sport tours on earth in the ASP World Tour.  Skateboarding includes household names like Ryan Sheckler, Tony Hawk, and Timothy Busfield.  Snowboarding just gets a lot of attention because of party animals like THIS.  And of course in rollerblading, nobody can withstand a slam harder than a BLADER (yeah, you know how we do diz shiz!)

Now you can’t fault other extreme sports for admiring these “extreme pioneers” and you definitely can’t fault them for attempting to outdo these sports in order to earn a spot amongst the ranks of greatness.  That is why you have probably seen a lot lately, members of the Kite Boarding world attempt to take the spotlight away from other sports in the mainstream media.  Twenty-six year old Kevin Kearny of Fort Lauderdale Florida looked at Hurricane Fay, not as a potential natural disaster, but as an opportunity to push extreme to the edge.  Unfortunately for KEVIN, nature had the best of him that day.

And just today, kite boarder David Sheridan from Australia thought that surfing waves was not enough if he wanted to be in good company.  While kite boarding off the north coast of Australia, David actually surfed a whale!  No we’re not kidding.  He actually surfed on top of a whale.  To prove his death-defying stunt, David caught all the action with his attached sail camera.  Moments later, David was knocked flying into the air after the whale flipped its tail to shoo David away.

“It all happened so fast that all I could do was crouch down as the whale swam under me.  Next thing I felt was the tail come up and hit me on the back of the head” David explained.

We’re almost certain that this story should catapult David and the sport of Kite Boarding into the forefront of extreme sports.  And with that, we would like to dedicate this MUSIC VIDEO to David Sheridan for his heroic story.
