Danny Way Breaks Two Vertebrae in MegaRamp Crash

Danny Way has crashed on the MegaRamp while performing in Brazil for an event.  SkateDaily found the report from Brazil, where Bob Burnquist, Way and others were in town for a contest going down this weekend.

As you can see in the video below, Way didn’t land cleanly after clearing the gap, sliding down the landing in obvious pain.  Way was reportedly taken to the hospital and diagnosed with two broken vertebrae, though he has subsequently been released.

Sandro Dias is scheduled to replace Way in the contest and another skater is sought to replace Pierre-Luc Gagnon, who did not make the trip.
