Raffle Skate Day To Help Bordertown

Fallen Footwear and Thrasher Magazine are teaming up to throw a fundraiser for one of the most uniquely created skateparks in the entire country.  Starting at a grassroots level, Bordertown originated with the construction of a simple concrete ramp by a few Bay Area locals.  Many other skaters in the area saw the potential in the skatepark movement and Bordertown was quickly recognized as a positive staple in the West Oakland community.  And if you’re familiar with West Oakland, you know how crazy it can be.  Just check out Spike Lee’s SUCKER FREE CITY.

Well the skatepark is nearing the halfway point towards completion.  If you know how it feels to nearly complete a project but it needs just a little push towards success, you can clearly empathize with these guys.  With full support from local and state officials, skaters, and residents, Bordertown can quickly be a dream come true. 

The benefit will be this weekend on Saturday, December 20th.  There will be plenty of raffle prizes including jackets, shirts, sweaters, Thrasher subscriptions and more.  Try to make it out for this great cause.
