I’m sure a lot of you out there were psyched on having one of the masters of hessianism, Erik Ellington from Baker/Deathwish answer a bunch of questions via the Active Boardshop website. I know I was. That is why when I found out Active was setting up this once in a life time opportunity, I rushed to my computer and sent him five of what I thought were the most important and relevant questions he would ever be asked.

Unfortunately I guess Active disagreed and didn’t bother asking a single one of my questions. You can read my questions here if you ‘d like. I basically sat through Active’s ten-minute interview full of semi-dull questions and bad audio. Call me bitter but I guess I really wanted Erik at my church camp. Anyway, watch the entire Ellington interview below. It’s not all that bad I guess.

Guess what!? Just when I thought Active was no longer being active, they announce two huge events in two days. Just yesterday I noted that Active Chino (not to get mixed up with Chino Hills) will be celebrating its re-grand opening at their new location with special guest Paul Rodriguez Jr. (not to get mixed up with “A Million To Juan” Paul Rodriguez).

Well today, Active just announced they will be doing a Q & A with Deathwish rider Erik Ellington. In order to get your questions answered, you must submit any thoughts you may have to Active by next Wednesday, August 20th. Not everybody’s question will be answered so don’t get all butt hurt if you don’t see your name up there. And just so you know, I will be submitting five of my very own questions so that unfortunately will subtract from your chances of getting your question answered. Here are mine.

1. With the name “Deathwish”, how is Charles Bronson involved and will you be able to top or at least equal as many Deathwishes Charles had?
2. How does it feel to be the only Hessian in your neighborhood up in the hills?
3. In the picture above and excuse my ignorance, but who is that hessian in the middle and where can I get a shirt like the one he’s sporting to show off my belly button?
4. With your crazy skate style, how do you not eat crap more often?
5. I would be honored to have you as a special guest at my Church Camp this summer. Would you like to attend?

So with these five valuable questions taking up valuable reality on Active’s list of inquiries, good luck. I hope they choose you.

I’m glad to see that Hessians are making a statement in today’s world, especially the skateboarding world. It’s also great to see those who aren’t really Hessian at all broaden their horizons by taking part in Hessian wear and Hessian lifestyle. It makes for a great mix of cultures; like the marriage of hip hop band Public Enemy and Hessian band Anthrax’s collaboration “Bring The Noise” . Deathwish is finally here starring some of Baker’s finest Hessians, Jim Greco, Erik Ellington, Antwuan Dixon, Lizard King, and am’s Brian Hansen, and Ramiro Salcedo. You can get the entire cool Deathwish product at your local skate shop. The line looks pretty Hessian so get on it so you can soon be the coolest hessier on your street.

Also, all of these dudes will be featured in the new promo video “Baker Has A Deathwish”, which will be out later this month. But if you’re in NYC and have nothing better to do, you can check out the video early tomorrow outside the Supreme Store at 5PM or inside Max Fish at 8PM. Check out the flyer below.
