Imagine how you would feel if you could go back in time to the 80’s and see an art show featuring Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and David Hockney? Or how about to the beginning of the last century and see an art show featuring Claude Monet, Mary Cassatt, and Paul Cezanne? Doesn’t resonate? Okay, what if you’re into the art of magic and in one show, just one, you can see the likes of David Copperfield, Siegfried and Roy, and Chris Angel under one roof?

Now you must understand the significance of this upcoming art show featuring Lance Mountain, Steve Caballero, and Christian Hosoi. On Saturday December 6th, Exit presents Movers & Shakers at the Salon Sessions Studios in Pasadena California. The event takes place from 6PM – 11PM and you know it’s going to get packed so get there early. Click Here for all the DETAILS

Man, after watching this trailer, it really makes me regret not keeping all of my old decks, broken or not. I think what this movie can do for skate decks is what “Just For Kicks” probably did for sneakers, which is just raise the hype that much more. So I encourage all you kids out there, please keep your skate decks. They will be worth something some day. And I don’t mean worth something as far as selling in an art show, but they will be worth something to you.

This documentary will be interesting to see so many perspectives on the skateboard graphic because it looks like some of the old pros feel that their old decks are worth thousands where as other older guys see it as unfortunate that skate decks cost that much. Maybe they should play a game of skate to see who’s right.

Anyway, check out this trailer at the Sk8Face movie site and feel the nostalgia looking at all these skate decks.

Some of my favorite reading comes from history books that tell the stories of how things came to be. Like for instance the story of John Zachary DeLorean and his struggling tale of an automobile company that inspired the “Back To The Future” time machine.

Or how about Fabio Lanzoni (most of you know him as just Fabio), and his rise to success through the modeling circuit and his soon after popular romance novels. It takes geniuses like these to make their dreams become a phenomenon and knowing their history enables the world to follow in their footsteps.

That is why long time skater Sean Mortimer and his new book called “Stalefish” should have you heading to Borders Books ASAP. His book features skateboarding culture at it’s finest during the dawn of what many thought would be just a fad. Many pros are featured in this time capsule of a book including Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain, Steve Olsen, and many more.

They are holding a book signing on the 31st of May but you must buy the book in order to attend. The book is only $18.95 and you can own a piece of history. Check out the flyer below for more details.
