Watch Rip Curl’s “Somewhere” On-Demand

We told you about the Rip Curl Pro Search going on as planned in Bali. The contest website has launched and before the live webcast begins, you can watch the latest Rip Curl film “Somewhere” on-demand.

The movie features 10 “search” trips from the likes of Mick Fanning, Stephanie Gilmore, Pancho Sullivan, Taylor Knox, Jessi Miley-Dyer and Bethany Hamilton (among many others).

So if you haven’t already gotten enough surf updates from the US Open and the Red Bull Big Wave Africa, do yourself a favor and check it out.

Rip Curl’s “Somewhere” Gets Huntington Beach Showing

If you live in SoCal and you don’t care about K-Rob’s historic jump on June 12, you can instead head over to the Charter Centre Cinemas in Huntington Beach and watch the new Rip Curl film “Somewhere” on the big screen.

There will be two showings (7 & 9 p.m.) and some extra fun in the form of a surf photo slide show. We’re not sure about that, but the trailer looks good.

Alex Smith, Austin Smith Ford on “The Daily Habit”

Alex Smith is certainly a surfer to watch following his win of the 2007 Rip Curl Grom Search and now he shows up on Fuel’s “Daily Habit” tonight. Also on the surf-heavy episode is Santa Cruz surfer Austin Smith Ford.

Rip Curl Gives Tom Curren a Whole Store of Stuff

We all know sponsors love to give free stuff to their athletes. Shoes, clothes, all sorts of gear… It’s just part of the deal. But you don’t usually see an athlete get as much love as surfing legend Tom Curren just got from longtime sponsor Rip Curl. Curren has gotten his own Rip Curl store (it’s called Tom Curren’s Rip Curl) on the busy, popular shopping area State Street in Santa Barbara.

“I was first sponsored by Rip Curl when I was 15, that was back in 1979 here in Santa Barbra at the Channel Island store. I was super pumped, Claw had come up to meet me, it’s just one of those times in your life you always remember. Something special kind of like here at this store today,” Curren said at the store opening last week.

Even if he doesn’t actually get to keep all the swag in the store, that’s still pretty cool. Congrats.
