Are you living in the middle of nowhere, so much so that despite all the demos and autograph postings we advertise on this site, you’ve yet to see a team in your neighborhood, or at least a few hundred miles of your neighborhood? One prime example of a lonely skater was featured on THE BERRICS named SKATE KIM. I bet that’s his real name too. But that kid was so awesome and lonely at the same time, you’ve got to assume that there are thousands of kids like him all over the world. It’s humbling.

A new website called Mycharitablelive.com has come onto the scene with a new business model. You can bid on autographed gear via auction and portions of that winning bid will go to your favorite charity.

Now excuse me while I go search out a sweaty Ryan Sheckler t-shirt, or a Nyjah Huston lock.

What would you say to a beautiful woman randomly calling you to challenge you at your sport? Well first of all, I would be curious as to why they are calling me. It must be some sort of trick my friends are playing. That’s why I would request to see this so-called “model’s” Myspace page to see if she really is who she says she is. And there better be a variety of photographs. Not just a bunch of 3-quarter shots either. If everything panned out, I would automatically change my sport from say, Rollerblading to wresting. Or maybe some type of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. And possibly mud wrestling. I’d say, “Sorry lady, you wanted to challenge me to my sport? This is how I make a living”.

It seems that Vogue’s Style Network, an online source for all your fashion needs (I’ll be looking up Shaun White’s style page after this) created an web based show where the very premise is to have hot models challenge athletes in their very own sport (what a groundbreaking idea). But who knows, in the very first webisode, a skateboarding supermodel beat a BMX messenger in a race around NYC. I wonder if that model was named RYAN SHECKLER.

But I’m sure these are all made with great fun and even greater intentions. To fuse the complex worlds of fashion and sports where they can unify as one. The STYLE Network.

Check out all the shenanigans and photos over at SUPERBMX.

As companies around the country and around the world for that matter, are cutting back, downsizing, and just looking back as to what went wrong, Adidas is no exception. Major cutbacks are crucial to these companys’ survival.

In an email sent to all employees last week from Adidas Chairman Herbert Hainer, “…due to the trouble economy, the company is imposing a hiring freeze, cutting external meetings, seminars and consultants, and aiming to pare travel expenses next year by 15%.” He went on to say, “We believe the current climate does not offer an occasion to party,” and will do without year-end parties, which cost a total of about $6.3 million.

In the spirit of JOYEUX NOEL, Etnies is coming to Adidas’ rescue by doing the very thoughtful and admirable gesture of throwing a company party. All this giving and good deeds make me want to do something special. So here you go – a Plan B warehouse video featuring an ETNIES skater, Ryan Sheckler. Also features Jereme Rogers and P-Rod.

Raise your hand if you’re going to miss George W. Bush when he steps down from office? I see that 1 out of 4 of you still like him, or about 24%. Well raise your hand if you love Sarah Palin and would like to see her run in 2012? Yikes. You supporters can stop reading now because you’re no longer okay in my book. You must have missed my article on the PIG WITH LIPSTICK. Don’t get me wrong I loved the woman. I love how she kills wolves from helicopters and obliviously gives interviews while turkeys are beheaded in the background. It’s when I found out she was anti-skater I hade a certain level of contempt for the PIG.

Just a fun little fact: Barack Obama’s Treasury Secretary, Tim Geithner is a shredder! Now we have someone in Washington we can look up to. Just reported on today’s very left wing, and skewed online newspaper The HUFFINGTON POST (I prefer this GUY), Mr. Geithner is a, “Cursing, skateboarding hipster wonk”. CHECK IT out yourself. Maybe next Obama will choose SHECKLER as Secretary of Eyes.

I think I’m really beginning to like this Obama fella. At first I felt a little shocked that this country would hire as the leader of this country, someone who pals around with domestic terrorist or has an I.Q. higher than the average citizen. But I think he may do just fine.

I was taking my morning stroll through the Internet this morning and coming across the usual obscure novelty websites such as Potion-And-Spells.com where you can learn how to cast a spell on your teachers or another interesting site I came across called ALL STAR JHERI CURLS which features some of Major Leagues Baseball’s most athletic and talented Jheri Curls. Then I accidentally came across Ryan Sheckler’s social networking site called RyanSheckler.com.

For one I didn’t even know that he had a social networking site. How awesome is that? Sheckler fans across the universe have a place where we can come together and chat everything Sheckler. And second, I didn’t know he had his own skate compound. But this isn’t any ordinary skate park like Dyrdek’s FANTASY FACTORY. This is like a skatepark on roids. Steroids that is. I think Sheckler really wanted to emphasize his “Go Hard or Go Home” philosophy on life.

Anyway, the Ryan Sheckler website looked like it was full of all sorts of awesome things so I decided to sign up and possibly make a few new friends. Unfortunately when I logged on, the members section was dominated by underage girls and dudes who look take photos of themselves like THIS.

Ryan Sheckler can thank PROACTIVE for following through with the clear skin he needs in order to be ready for what’s ahead of him. With skaters like Paul Rodriguez following in his dad’s footsteps and even Spike Jonze heavily involved with films like “MI VIDA LOCA” (sorry can’t find his exact clip), you can see why Sheckler wants a piece of the action. So when I heard that Ryan Sheckler was prepping for a blockbuster movie, I couldn’t wait to see what this was about. Since Hollywood is running out of ideas and they’re looking to the past for inspiration, it really got me thinking, “What can this film be about?” I quickly assumed that they were remaking the movie version of the hit 80’s show, “SILVER SPOONS” with Ryan Sheckler playing the part of Ricky Stratton. You have to admit, Sheckler kind of does look like RICKY SCHRODER.

Unfortunately for all of us, I was wrong. What a shame too because The Rock is said to be part of the cast as well. He could have played the part of Alfonso Spears, back then played by ALFONSO RIBEIRO.

Sheckler’s film is actually called “TOOTH FAIRY” (that’s cute), which is scheduled to be released this time next year. By the looks of the title, I’m guessing the film is about Ryan’s character’s ability to overcome tooth decay or even more dangerous, gingivitis. Look for it at a car wash near you. Just kidding. Here’s the real synopsis.

A bad deed on the part of a tough minor-league hockey player (The Rock) results in an unusual sentence: He must serve one week as a real-life tooth fairy.

You skateboarders are a clever and creative bunch. But, I know that this is a complete generalization but I’m sure most of you who skate know someone who embodies the steteotypical skater. I would say that Donovan from Buttery Ass Monday’s is the epitome of millions of biters out there. The dude is original as hell though. He’s sort of like urban version of MacGyver. As a result, kids all over the country begin to look like that kid, Andy Milonakis.

But over the past couple of years, a few skaters have stuck out enough to make it onto the most creative television network out there, MTV. The Jackass crew rose the bar pretty high as far as content goes. Their show ideas were simple, cheap to produce, and miraculously allowed straight guys to act gay. Perfect. Then kind of simultaneously, Rob Dyrdek and Ryan Sheckler came out with their own reality shows. Rob’s show was about how much time and money he can waste while Ryan’s show was about how many tears he could shed.

I’m not exactly sure how the ratings went for both these shows but I’m assuming that Sheckler won that round due to thousands of fan sites like THIS. But Rob won’t go down without a fight. His MTV show has evolved a whole lot. No more Big Black, a new dog, and a fantasy skate park have been included. I’m thinking this show is like his old one but on steroids. Check out the sneak peak below from DC.

Do you remember all those years in high school when all the cool guys, bros, jocks, meatheads, and dudes that drove lowered or lifted Chevy S-10’s would talk about a tournament that took place every March called March Madness? Those science class discussions quickly got monopolized by the dudes mentioned above into which college basketball team would take the National Championship that year explained by their broken down homemade tournament brackets, thereby leaving everyone else uninterested like me out of the discussion. I don’t know about you but I would pass the time by reading listening to Slayer on my Walkman or playing with my Pogs.

So a decade later, we’ve come to a time where skateboarding has come to the forefront of everything cool, for the most part at least. We’ve got skateboarding in everything like Avril Levigne Songs on in the case of Proactive commercials (thank you Ryan Sheckler). Well, The Berrics has created something special for all us outsiders to partake in and have our own group discussions leaving multiple possibilities wide open for debate. A 32 man (or boy) battle of S.K.A.T.E Tournament will take place at the Berrics and will continue every week until there is one man (or boy) standing. This should be fun!

Here’s where you can partake. The Berrics has created a bracket for you to fill for the possibility of winning some great prizes. If your bracket makes it to the top four results, you get the gear. Now is your opportunity to talk brackets with people at school and make sure you leave those bros out of the conversation. Now get over to The Berrics and fill out your bracket.

Chaz Ortiz practicing in Orlando – cr. AST

One year ago, Chaz Ortiz was making his first appearance on the AST Dew Tour at Orlando’s PlayStation Pro having qualified for a wildcard thanks to taking the Free Flow Tour title. At only 13, he was competiting as an amateur. This year, he won it all.

“I wasn’t expecting to win,” Ortiz said. “I came in here just wanting to have fun and I mean it all came together. To win it is ten times better.”

Ortiz didn’t just win the PlayStation pro, he dominated it. Yes, Paul Rodriguez Jr. and Greg Lutzka were in it to the end, but Ortiz couldn’t be beat after landing almost every trick cleanly in the seven-minute jam session.

Three-time Dew Cup champ Ryan Sheckler, who led the race going into Orlando, was off of his game finishing well out of the running in the contest at 10th place and 3rd for the Dew Cup.

For the season both Sheckler and Ortiz won two stops (the other was won by P-Rod) but Sheckler’s poor showing in two contests made the difference.

P-Rod finished second in the contest and in the Dew Cup Race, followed by Greg Lutzka in third for the contest (and fourth for the Dew Cup).

Timmy Knuth, 17, who won this year’s Free Flow Tour amateur title in Salt Lake City last month, finished in fourth place today.
