I found this video on the Shred Or Die site. They put up a Rodney Mullen montage that is just out of this world. He’s a real virtuoso at skateboarding. I think he was on that show “That’s Incredible” back in the 80’s and they called him a “skateboarding savant”. I can’t even name half the tricks in this video let alone explain what’s going on here. So just sit back and enjoy the next six minutes. One thing’s for sure, he would kill at a game of skate. No contest.

Van Pro-tec Pool Party Footage

Remember a while back I complained about how hot it was outside and the weather made me want to do absolutely nothing? But then I came across this flyer for a pool party in Orange County? Then remember how I got my Speedos together and drove 40 miles out to the O.C. to get some sun, girls, and drinks? And then remember how I arrived there and it was a complete sausage fest because it ended up being at the Van Skatepark and there were no girls, water, or drinks? Well yeah, it didn’t turn out my way but I had fun anyway.

Shred Or Die just put up some footage from that event if you’re interested in how it went. The new video features footage with Rune Glifberg, Josh Borden, Sergie Ventura, Omar Hassan, Bob Burnquist, Bucky Lasek, and a bunch of other bros. Film Or Die

A few years ago during the 2004 presidential campaign, Puffy, or I mean Puffy Daddy, or I mean Puffy Puff made an attempt at creating social change with his “Vote Or Die” message which encouraged young people to go out and vote. High-profile celebrities and artists like Mary J. Blige, Paris Hilton (“Voting’s Hot”), and 50 Cent all came together to promote the “Vote Or Die” slogan. Ironically, neither Paris nor Fitty voted on that important day and the country was left with the most unfortunate state of affairs: another four years with Bush! Thanks youth! Where did they get that slogan anyway? Quite possibly from “Skate Or Die” from the 80’s.

Skateboarding has taken the “Or Die” moniker back with Woodward’s “Film Or Die” competition. This one of a kind event challenges filmmakers to team up with skater friends (13 – 17 yrs old) to create the best maximum 3-minute video. The winners of this contest will win two free weeks at Woodward Skate Camp in Pennsylvania this summer. The skater that wins will go off and have a ball skating with other kids while the filmmaker will be working directly with the Woodward Video Production Camp Director to document footage for Tony Hawk’s Shred Or Die site (hope this doesn’t violate child labor laws) for members to view online.
